1950's Harmony Catalina w/ OG Case
Very cool vintage Harmony Catalina! Unlike many from this era, this one has been thoroughly gone through with work done to make it an awesome player. This includes a complete refret, and slight relocation of the tailpiece mount, resulting in straighter string alignment with the bridge. The fretboard has been resurfaced to reveal what appears to be original ebony.
It has some various imperfections including paint wear/disruptions, dings, chips, and scuffs. Bear in mind this is an instrument approacing 70 years old; overall the paint still looks quite nice and the guitar is attractive on a stand. There is a small crack on the back, and holes are present from where the tailpiece was mounted out of the factory.
This one is a lot of fun, and after revieving some love from well esteemed local luthier Ben Bruton, it is a real joy to play. It has a unique tone that is very well suited to traditional blues and jazz. It is ready to go, and all set to be enjoyed in it's new home!
