Guild F212XL *As-Is*
A unique opportunity to own a great classic Guild for what could be a nice bargain! This one is being sold as-is, as it has a few issues that a skilled hand could likely address. The serial number dates it to 1973 - certainly a well respected era for Guild that saw some great sounding instruments.
This one is in decent cosmetic shape, with some finish cracks on the back as well as some miscellaneous scratches/dings throughout. It suffers from a couple of issues commonly found on guitars of this age (particularly 12 strings) - with the first being that the bridge has been incrementally shaven down over time to compensate for a degrading neck angle, meaning that it will likely need a new bridge. The second being the neck angle itself, which is not great and will need a neck reset in order to play as it should. There are cracks in the top on either side of the fretboard above the sound hole, meaning that the bracing in the area might need some attention. As it sits right now, it will string up and play in the first position, although the strings are quite high and difficult to play. The saddle (and bridge itself) have been taken down low as they can go, so at this point more structural repairs are necessary.
For somebody with a practiced hand in this type of repair work, this one could represent a nice deal - as these have certainly been increasing in value over the years - and its relatively good cosmetic shape would definitely make this one a prime candidate for restoration.
Due to these issues, it is being sold as-is, with no returns for any reason. Please ask any questions prior to purchase, and we would be happy to send over any additional photos upon request.
Includes what appears to be the original hardshell case.
