Seiwa 4 String Bass
Very cool vintage Seiwa bass! This one would be likely from the mid 80's - with some very cool MIJ mojo; including a painted headstock and beefy brass saddles, along with a nice "almost lake placid blue" finish.
The Seiwa brand was a product of Ibanez, and would have likely come off the same production line as the Roadstar series—and this one definitely feels like an 80's Japanese Ibanez, with a nice rounder neck profile and sleek body contours. It is fun to play and easy to manage in the hand, with a shorter scale length. It would be excellent for pop/punk gigging, as well as those with smaller hands.
It is currently set up with flatwounds and plays nicely as it should. There are miscellaneous marks, including a few chips to the finish along the body and headstock, as well as some scuffs on the rear edge of the lower bout and buckle rash on the back—although fairly minor. Overall, it looks nice for its age, particularly from the stand or stage.
No case.
