1966 Rickenbacker 450/12 Cresting Wave

We at Sound Source are pleased to offer a rare opportunity to own a real- deal mid 60's Rickenbacker Cresting Wave for what could be a great bargain to the right buyer. This example is quite original parts-wise, and cosmetically shows nicely with not a lot of wear to the finish or plastics. This is one of the less common later examples with a two-piece body and set neck. It has suffered a fall at some point a while back, and the neck has been questionably reset. This includes some non-original screws in the back going into the heel, with what appears to be some glue applied as well. As it sits, it is playable; however, the action going up the neck gets high as the neck angle is less than ideal. The neck itself is quite straight, and with a proper neck reset would likely be a nice player. For first position chords or those accustomed to high action it could conceivably be left as it is; however because of this we have priced it as a guitar that requires structural repair. The string height could potientially be lowered a bit as it is, if one were to get a bit creative with the saddle and pickup height, as it is presently it has been lowered as much as it can be with the pickup as low as it can go. To the right individual who is practiced in luthery, this could present a great deal—especially considering the cosmetic condition of the guitar apart from this. The frets are in decent shape considering the age, and show a bit of wear but nothing that looks problematic to play. This guitar is being sold as is with no returns, so please ask any questions before purchase. Thank you.

Don't miss out on what could be a great deal on a rare guitar!
