1982 Ibanez Artist AR100

Here’s one for the ones who know! This vintage AR100 is a hidden gem, with plenty of mojo. It has a big of a Jerry Garcia or Santana vibe, and would be excellent for anything from psych rock to doom metal. It has a gorgeous quilted maple top with a classic tobacco burst finish. As with many now vintage MIJ guitars, this one is becoming collectible and is bound to increase in value over time!

It has has a nice dark rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets, full binding, and an attractive headstock inlay. The factory pickups are present, although they have been mounted using the center screw on the left side of each pickup rather than the two on that side as was factory. You could easily move this back to the 3 screw configuration, but it really serves no functional difference. The tuners have been replaced with newer locking Gotoh units.

It is in overall good playing shape, with some cosmetic blemishes. Notably there is a sizable ding on the top that goes through the finish, as well as some significant rash on the back. There are some other miscellaneous dings/scratches associated with decades of use. It presents nicely on a stand though, and would look at home on a stage.

It is setup well with string height around 5/64” at the 12th fret. It is functionally 100% ready to go, and only needs a new owner!
