1981 Fender Lead I *Restomod*
Here's a cool one! This 1981 Fender Lead I has seen a neat refresh - souped up with a DiMarzio, repro pickguard, and automotive metallic white finish. A set of graphtec saddles increase sustain and help with intonation. Definitely something worthy of stage use, while retaining a sweet vintage vibe (would be absolutely killer in a punk band!).
It is in good overall shape, with some mojo from previous use including finish checking, some finish wear (neck pocket), and miscellaneous dings/scuffs. It looks quite nice on the stand, and would look even better on the stage!
The frets appear original, with plenty of life left. The tuners are original as well, and function as they should (these "F-Stamp" tuners are getting to be fairly valuable themselves!). This one is a pleasure to play, with a fairly thin neck that still retains a nice rounded profile, being very comfortable with low string height of around .050" at the 12th fret. It has received a fresh setup with a set of D'Addario XL 9-42s, and is ready for it's new home!
