Yamaha FG-110 Red Label
An increasingly hard to find and great sounding vintage Yamaha! For a while now the old Japanese made Red Label guitars have been known as something of a little known secret, with a sweet, rich tone for far less money than modern equivalents. While these can be a bit hard to date specifically, as far as we can tell this one dates to around 1970 - being one of the last of the Japanese made F-110s.
It has a nice and compact body shape somewhat resembling an 000, and is perfect for blues, and is responsive enough for fingerstyle. The wood has aged nicely and this one really sounds great!
It comes to us in about expected cosmetic condition for a 50 year old guitar, with miscellaneous dings/scratches. There was a minor crack near the headstock around the side of the nut, which we repaired in-house and poses no threat to structural stability at this point. It plays nicely with "medium" string height at the 12th fret.
